Dr. Robert H. Goddard, the foremost pioneer in the field of rocketry was responsible for the first successful launch of a liquid fueled rocket on March 12th, 1926.Dr. Goddard was born in 1882 in Massachusetts, he carried out rocket development there and in New Mexico. He died in August of 1945 berfore his research was universally recognized.
