The view from the Apollo 11 spacecraft shows the Earth rising above the Moon´s horizon. The lunar terrarin pictured is in the area of Smyth´s Sea on the near side. Coordinates of the center of the terrarin are 85 degrees east longitude and 2 degrees north.

Dr. Robert H. Goddard, the foremost pioneer in the field of rocketry was responsible for the first successful launch of a liquid fueled rocket on March 12th, 1926.

Dr. Goddard was born in 1882 in Massachusetts, he carried out rocket development there and in New Mexico. He died in August of 1945 berfore his research was universally recognized.
